| At first I was excited to watch the debate.. |

This debate is nothing different than watching some highly contrived debate show on CNN on any given day. Aside from the new mix of economic woes to wax philosophical about, it's still about terrorism and how foreign policy relates to it. I'm really into politics (I'm so liberal, I'm pro gun rights), so I'm not claiming to be apathetic, but it's sad how we are conditioned to believe in the "important" things.
3,000 people died in an attack, so we've dedicated the last 7 years towards preventing this from happening again. Because of this; we've argued, we've chosen leaders, revamped laws, plastered our cars with bumper stickers, we've spent hundreds of billions of dollars, and had over 4,000 American troops die - never forget 9/11.
42,000 Americans die in car accidents a year. Holy fuck. Where's the outrage?
Wrap your brain around that.
Edit: Now, everything is focused on the economy. Fear-mongering aside, BO is so gonna win. |

I had recently gotten a knock-off Les Paul. It had really bad electronics, but last night I replaced the bridge pick-up with an aftermarket one and also adjusted the string height and intonation. Now it sounds totally bad ass like it should be used by Deadsy.
Now I just need to finish repainting my real Les Paul Custom and get rid of my vintage Deluxe Reverb. |

My girlfriend is one of the most belligerent, violent drunks in the world. Fortunately, she lacks the physical strength required to be really awesome at it. |

I went to see some Greek Orthodox Arabs get married in Jacksonville, Fl. The best part about Jacksonville is this place called Funari's. The gelato is amazing.

Anybody want a cat? He is around 6 or 7 weeks old and needs a good home. He was found (nearly dead) downtown, in a bush, by the Thirsty Tiger.

My girlfriend's mom's friend found my myspace and, via phone conversation, told my girlfriend's mom that I'm a homosexual. I think that's pretty funny.

I am completely inspired by this video (quicktime player required.)
Only in America will we raise all fucking hell to save a white lady from being cut off the feeding tube, even though she's been brain dead for 15 years and it's the legal guardian's decision.. and he's turned down money offers to let her live.. all the while turning the blind eye to a family in Texas being forced to take the feeding tube out of their black child. Let's be fair, the Texas law that GWB signed allows the decision to force death (against the family's will) to be based on how much money they make. Oh, that liberal media. |

When I'm avoiding school work, I tend to find ANYTHING else to do. My bathroom gets really clean when I have papers to do.
So, I'm doing 259 questions worth of Biology and browsing the ol' LJ. One journal I check every now and then is puripnon's journal. He's part of the self-affirming intellectual LSU social circle. It's not really something I'm interested in, but sometimes the sheer intelligence can make for a good read. I am aware that some of these people DO have much stronger minds than I. ANYHOW, I click on his friends list and casually peruse one of those journals.

-I've fixed the errors in previous livejournal entries where pictures would not load.
-Many moons ago, I predicted that the Republicans would set their sights on hacking at our judicial system, when corporations are involved. Fear of litigation keeps the ruling class and the corporate entities in check. It has begun, with little opposition. Previously, a worker might have a pricetag on his head worth millions. If corporations didn't ensure their safety, it was a costly business decision. The way Republicans like it, is if workers have a maximum value of $250k. This means if it costs $3 million dollars to save an estimated 5 workers' lives then fuck that. They'll just risk it and pay the maximum $1.25 million if they die.
It's very sad.. back to the coal and salt mines of 1900 we go.
-They're making a big budget movie version of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.. Granted, the BBC series is amusing, I've been anticipating that one for a long time. Interzone agents in Naked Lunch are GROSS. I suffer from roach-phobia. The City of Lost Children is one of the best movies, ever. I love the lolita thing going on. The Curb Your Enthusiasm director did a Kurt Vonnegut novel called Mother Night. It's Larry David related, it's WW2 related, it's VONNEGUT.. but I wasn't expecting anything great. Suprisingly, it was actually a good (but long) movie.
What's new:
I have a Jesus night light, a new bed made out of some kind of space-age foam shit, and 600tc egyptian cotton sheets to go along with it. I still seem to be numb to this world that is passing me by. Oh yes, I have joined the ridiculous fad of myspace. |

Celebrating White Man's Assimilation of Native Americans. I'd have to agree with Christina on that one. Smiling faces and family gatherings don't seem to mind. 'Tis such a joyous season for Euro-Americans.
I helped deaf people annoy hearing people at work and then spent the rest of Thanksgiving alone. I wish I didn't always feel like a fucking space alien around people. There's some trivial shit for personal documentation behind the cut.
( Skip it. )
I was a little disappointed with the stage setup for RENT, but broadway is something everyone should do every now and then. The Seinfeld special is tonight. My apparent-lost-cousin-Larry David will most likely finally get due credit for creating and writing much of Seinfeld. If the trend of improvement from season to season is any indication, CYE (Larry David's post Seinfeld work)will be even better and even more anti-Republican this upcoming season.
Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Russell Simmons and all, has been reduced to being the house band for Carson Daly this week. That definately does NOT have the flava. |
